The Group held its 1st Year Apprentice Day Induction as part of the apprentice journey for our young bloods. Nine 1st years came to Head Office in Cambuslang and took part in the day which saw them meet their peers from around the Group and also get some exposure to trainees nearing the end of their apprenticeships as well as qualified tradesmen and directors and management from across the Group.
The day commenced with a welcome from John Brown, Managing Director of Veitchi Flooring who was joined by Group MD Jim Preston and other Holding Board and Subsidiary Directors. In addition the group took part in a Health and Safety workshop from our H&S manager Stephen McKenna on the importance that the Veitchi Group place on keeping our workforce safe.
The team then took part in some team building run by senior supervisor Daryn Duncan where we got to see the competitiveness of the group in action.
All in this was an excellent day enabling us to observe the quality of our apprentice intake and give them an insight into how a career in Veitchi can be built.
