The Veitchi Group 5-aside team comprising of James Martin (captain) Cal Graham, Kieran McIntyre, Scott Turner, Connor Murphy and Finlay Milliken won the Business Fives National Finals event held at Glasgow Townhead Powerleague on 7th April. A shout out also to Liam Johnstone and Liam Mitchell who were involved in the event that saw the team qualify for these finals.
The boys sporting their stunning Veitchi branded kit progressed through their first league section before being narrowly knocked out of the Champions league event. They were then put into the Europa league section which they won beating Applus+ in the final in a 13 goal thriller.
The lads were presented with the trophy by none other than Celtic legend John Hartson. In addition they received a cheque for £750 which they can donate to a charity of their choice. This will be going to CHAS https://www.chas.org.uk/ the Children’s Hospice Assoc Scotland who run Rachel and Robin House supporting families with children with life limiting conditions.
They also set up their own Just Giving page for CHAS which is still open and has raised £550 to date.
