The Group are delighted to announce the retirement of Arthur Blower, Senior Branch Manager of our Dumfries and Carlisle branch on Friday 9th April.
Arthur who has a passion for horses and motorbikes also became a grandfather last year and is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
Arthur commenced first time round with us in 1983 as a driver in Dumfries. He was with us for 20 years before jumping over briefly to join Buccleuch Estates. Realising the error of his ways he returned to the saddle nine months later in August 2004 and galloped through the ranks again to ultimately become Senior Branch Manager in Dumfries & Carlisle. With this second stint of 16 years and 8 months, Arthur has worked for us for nearly 37 years showing exceptional service and dedication. To quote Graham Bruce, R&S Operations Director, “If we could clone Arthur, we’d be laughing”.
Having said that, Arthur is another “retiring” much valued colleague who will continue working for us on a part time consultancy basis to help out as required. So he will still be seen around the office.
Arthur hands over the reins to Mark Palmer who has been promoted from within to the role after 12 years’ service and we wish Mark all the very best in his new role.
It has been a pleasure working with you Arthur you have always carried out your role in the most professional and dignified manner and you will be sorely missed.
