Over the course of 2019 / 20 our Graduate training program has been very busy developing, mentoring and encouraging our employees to achieve and add more to the business.
Of those in the scheme the following have attained their qualifications this year:
Claire Cassidy HNC Accounting
Claire passed her 2 year HNC course obtaining an A pass whilst juggling the joys of motherhood and a 30 hour working week. Claire has worked in the head office accounts team for 23 years, joining as an embryo, and will use her new skill set to expand her role within the team and increase her involvement in the year end audit process. An already highly valued member of the team Claire’s energy and positive attitude are every bit as important to the Group as her academic ability.
Cal Graham HNC Quantity Surveying
Cal joined us via the TIGERS program and has now passed his HNC in quantity surveying and will be moving forward to do a BSC Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying at Glasgow Caledonian University. Not a shy boy, Cal contributes enthusiastically in all that he does and has the charisma and wit to have a prosperous career at Veitchi.
Laura Rae CIPD Level 5 in Human resource Management
Laura passed her one year course which enabled her to develop her wide skill set even further and assist within the HR side of the business as well as the management and monitoring of the graduates and apprentices and our ISO offering on top of her role of running the Veitchi Flooring administration function. Laura joined the business nearly 3 years ago and has brought a bright efficiency with her that has allowed the flooring division to flourish. Further good news for Laura who got married whilst she was working with us is that she is expecting her first child in December.
